I remember hearing about adventure games where you controlled a puppet inside the computer telling him to go north, open door, fight monkey and so forth. But I never played one myself till I had two really bad ones on my Sinclair. I didn't have any machines that were capable of playing Zork. But I did get hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. And a few others. This thread follows the text adventures I have known :)
